Chrysler Electric Car
Chrysler electric car brands include Global Electric Motorcars and Dodge Zeo.
Of these, the Global Electric Motorcars (www.gemcar.com) brand is a separate electric car manufacturing operation that works out of Fargo, North Dakota. In addition to the Zeo, there are two other concept designs that use lithium ion batteries for primary power, the Chrysler EcoVoyager and Jeep Renegade. Of the three, the Dodge Zeo runs on battery power alone for 250-miles on one recharge (an all electric vehicle). The Chrysler EcoVoyager, meanwhile, runs a hydrogen fuel cell as a back-up to the battery pack (and works as a hydrogen-electric hybrid car). The last one, the Jeep Renegade, has a small diesel engine to add to the car’s operating range, which makes it a diesel-electric hybrid car. The only all-electric car among the concepts, the Dodge Zeo, is roughly Ford Focus-sized, but it’s much lower than a traditional hatchback, and features a 2+2 seating arrangement. Although the concept has no combustion engine or fuel cell back-up at all, it is still capable of acceleration of 0-60mph in less than 8.0 seconds.
