Compare Hybrid Cars

When you compare hybrid cars, you need basic information about the MPG figures (fuel efficiency), MRSP, and performance of the car in use. Here are some premade comparisons on fuel efficiency and price.

There are many variables you can use to compare hybrid cars, but the most popular are fuel-efficiency (miles-per-gallon, MPG) and price.

Below are some pre-made comparisons of the available hybrid cars, based on three fuel efficiency criteria: City MPG, Highway MPG, and unadjusted combined MPG. These figures are originally taken (as is) from Environmental Protection Agency's annual fuel efficiency test results.

This way, depending on what criteria you are basing your decision upon, you can quickly extract the needed information and continue to further research your chosen car.

Compare Hybrid Cars - MRSP

For many, one of the first considerations when choosing a car is the price range.

However, for hybrids, which typically cost a few thousand more than conventional similar vehicles, the focus is on the fuel-efficiency/price combination.

In addition to the environmental benefits, you may save money on the overall deal if the savings on fuel are more than what you pay extra for having a hybrid car.

On the list below, the best hybrid car based on price (the cheapest hybrid car) is on the top of the list while the most expensive is on the bottom.

Compare Hybrid Cars - City MPG Fuel Efficiency

When you compare hybrid cars, the city MPG measures the cars fuel efficiency on city traffic-like environment, where there is extensive idling and lower speeds.

If you mostly drive your car on such environments, this measure can be the most important MPG yardstick when choosing a hybrid car.

In the list, a bigger MPG means a more fuel efficient car. The best hybrid car based on this measure is on the top of the list, and the worst on the bottom.

HONDA Insight 1 (3 cyl) Man-5 2WD Gasoline small car City MPG 61 Hwy MPG 66 Unad. Comb. MPG 74.3172 MRSP $19,330

Compare Hybrid Cars - Highway MPG Fuel Efficiency

The highway MPG measures the hybrid cars' fuel efficiency on highway conditions, where higher speeds and more constant speeds are used.

If you mostly drive your car on such environments, when you compare hybrid cars, this measure can be the most important MPG yardstick when choosing a hybrid car.

In the list, a bigger MPG means a more fuel efficient car. The best hybrid car based on this measure is on the top of the list, and the worst on the bottom.

Compare Hybrid Cars - Unadjusted Combined MPG Fuel Efficiency

The unadjusted combined MPG measures the cars fuel efficiency average on city and highway traffics.

If you mostly drive your car on this mixed type of driving environment, the unadjusted combined MPG measure can be the most important MPG yardstick when choosing a hybrid car.

In the list, a bigger MPG means a more fuel efficient car. The best hybrid car based on this measure is on the top of the list, and the worst on the bottom.
