Almost all of the car manufacturers have a fuel savings calculator for you to calculate savings on fuel costs with their hybrid car.

However, keep in mind that results on these calculators are based on estimates and that ideal fuel economy is dependent on many factors including

• driving style
• road conditions
• air conditioning control levels
• payload weight
• proper tire pressure

Cost of Hybrid Cars - Ford Escape

Ford has a Fuel Cost Savings Calculator available on their website.

With it, you can estimate the fuel costs with your current vehicle compared to the fuel costs and how much you could save in fuel dollars if you were driving a Ford Escape Hybrid.

To calculate the savings, you need to fill in three pieces of information to the calculator:

1. How much did you pay for your last gallon of gas?
2. How many miles do you normally drive? (a day, a month, or a year)
3. Your current vehicles MPG average

In return, you get the estimate of how much it costs to drive your current vehicle, compared to how much it would cost to drive a Ford Escape Hybrid, and how much you would save.

Cost of Hybrid Cars - Toyota Prius

If you're thinking about purchasing the popular Toyota Prius, Toyota has also a Fuel Cost Savings Calculator available on their website.

With it, you can estimate how much you could save in gas money if you drove a 2005 Prius.

To use the Toyota Fuel Cost Savings Calculator, you need the three similar pieces of information as for Ford's fuel cost calculator:

1. How much did you pay for your last gallon of gas?
2. How many miles do you normally drive? (a day, a month, or a year)
3. Your current vehicles MPG average

In return, you get estimated annual fuel costs for your current vehicle, estimates for the same costs for driving a 2005 Prius, and the estimated annual savings if you switch to a Prius.

Cost of Hybrid Cars - Honda

Honda has three hybrid car models available at the American car market: Honda Insight, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Honda Civic Hybrid.

As part of Honda's website for the hybrid cars, there is also a fuel savings calculator available for Accord Hybrid and Civic Hybrid, but not the Insight.

To use the Honda Online Fuel Savings Calculator for Accord or Civic, you need three pieces of information:

1. How much do you usually pay for a gallon of gas?
2. How many miles do you generally travel? (a day, a month, or a year)
3. What is the highway mileage of your current vehicle?

In return, you get the estimate on how much you use on gas for your current car (over 5 & 10 years), the estimate on how much you would use fuel on a Honda Hybrid car (over 5 & 10 years), and the savings over 5 and 10 years you would achieve by switching to a Honda hybrid car.
