Detroit Electric Car

Detroit electric car is a joint venture between ZAP Cars and Chinese China Youngman Automotive Group, developed in 2008.

The 'new' brand has in fact a history going back a hundred years into the era of the earliest electric cars.

The brand name was in fact favored by the likes of Thomas Edison and John D Rockerfeller Jr., Charles Proteus Steinmetz, and Henry Ford's Wife Clara, in its days, so it carries a lot of history and prestige.

Originally, it was the Anderson Electric Car Company that started building the cars under the Detroit Electric brand over 100 years ago.

Anderson is in fact the longest running electric car company in history, operating between 1907 and 1939.

The first car to re-start the brand is the Zap Alias model.

The company’s base is in California, in the heart of alternative energy cars marketplace in the United States, especially electric cars.
