Ford Think electric car was developed until 2003 by the company, when it was sold. However, later, it has re-emerged under a new, Norwegian ownership.
Before Ford let go of the company, they invested some $100 million into developing the electric car.
The company was sold in 2003 to KamKorp Microelectronics of Switzerland, owned by Kamal Siddiqi.
The around 1000 used Think cars from US and UK were re-exported back to Norway, the manufacturing base, where they were in high demand.
However, even with the Swiss management, the markets did not develop for the car, and the company went out of business in 2006, and was purchased by Norwegians in 2007.
The new model from the new owners is very much based on the car that Ford invested the $100 million in.
According to Think, the new model is likely to have a range of 110 miles and meet all U.S. safety regulations.
The car went into limited production in 2007, but the company is taking limited amount of orders for Norway delivery.
The official name of the new company is Think Global, based in Aurskog, Norway, manufacturing cars under the TH!NK brand. They have a website at en.think.no.
