Hybrid Car and Alternative Fuel


Hybrid car and alternative fuel future concept cars have been making into the automotive drawing boards.

Saab biopower 9-3 plug-in flex-fuel hybrid

Saab (which is a GM owned subsidiary) Biopower 9-3 hybrid concept was unveiled in 2006 and uses biofuel together with an electric engine.

The concept car can utilize E85 flex fuel, which is a blend of 85% biofuel and 15% gasoline, but it can also utilize E100, which is 100% biofuel.

Many analyst have been praising this concept as a production ready dual mode hybrid vehicle, that can run on ethanol. It is also one of the first 4 cylinder convertible flex fuel hybrid cars potentially nearing production.

Flex-Fuel Ford Escape hybrid

One of the anticipated hybrid biofuel cars is the Ford Escape hybrid that has an electric motor and a gasoline or any gasoline and E-85 combination engine. Ford has been testing this technology for some years and plans to offer the technology in future models.
