Hybrid Car State Tax BreaksThere are several websites that keep the lists of incentives to buy hybrids up to date. One of these sites is from the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) at go.ucsusa.org/hybridcenter/incentives.cfm. In addition to state incentives, such as the ability to drive on the HOV lanes, there are federal incentives, including tax based incentives. However, the state based incentives and tax breaks are usually the most important and most of the incentives have set deadlines after which the incentives do not apply anymore. Besides automotive based incentives, there are many incentives to consume in a way that preserves the environment.
