Hybrid Cars Survey

Hybrid cars survey studies have been done by, for example, the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute.

2005 O.S.A.T.–HybridCars.com Survey of Owners and Shoppers

The 2005 OSAT-HybridCars.com Survey of Owners and Shoppers is in fact a document belonging to an ongoing research program by OSAT in partnership with the hybrid cars related website HybridCars.com.

The research for the 2005 is the first such study by the two parties.

The reason for doing the survey was that in the authors' opinion, traditional market research tools do not effectively reach hybrid car owners and shoppers, who, according to the authors, are skeptical of commercial market research.

The hybrid car potential purchase and interest group was surveyed for the survey by asking HybridCars.com site visitors and newsletter subscribers to participate in an online survey during late 2004 - early 2005.

Though not a random sample of the populations of owners and shoppers, the survey does give valuable insight into the motivates that people give for buying hybrid cars.
