Japanese Hybrid Cars 2005

There are 6 different Japanese hybrid cars 2005 either expected or already available.

Japanese car manufacturers have been the forerunners in developing hybrid car technology.

In fact, Toyota Prius, the world's first new generation hybrid car (the world's first hybrid car was manufactured in 1902), that runs on both gasoline and electricity, was launched in December 1997 after almost 30 years of Toyota research into the technology.

Part of the reason why you'll find the most advanced hybrid cars from Japan is because the local government is taking firm measures to cut the country's carbon dioxide emissions.

Japan's Environment Ministry has estimated that having one million hybrid cars replacing standard gasoline-powered cars would mean 300,000 tons fewer carbon dioxide emitted each year.
