Phoenix Electric Car

Phoenix electric car manufactures zero-emission, freeway-speed fleet vehicles.

Phoenix Motorcars (phoenixmotorcars.com) company was established in 2001. Currently, they offer at least two all-electric vehicles for the market.

These cars use the new Altairnano Lithium Titanate battery technology, which eliminate many previous deficiencies in battery and drivetrain performance.

The all-electric vehicles that are powered with these new batteries have performance numbers close to or similar to gas- or diesel-powered vehicles without the polluting by-products.

The company has car manufacturing plant in Ontario, California.

The first cars are released in late 2008, to selected consumers in California and there will be a nationwide launch through an established dealership network beginning in 2009.

With the advanced batteries, the range of the cars is approximately 130 miles on one recharge. The company, however, is working on an expansion pack extending the range to 250 miles, available in 2009.

With the onboard charger, a full recharge will take 5- to 6-hours of charging from a 220V outlet.

The first car to be released is called the Phoenix SUT:
