Smart Car Electric
Smart car electric version Fortwo EV was announced in 2007.
The all-electric version is first test run in a market trial in Britain an then, initially, leased to select corporate customers. Although Smart, produced by the German Daimler, began selling their cars in the United States in 2008, the EV model has no release schedule yet. The Fortwo EV version is estimated to offer better in-town performance than its gasoline powered stablemate, with 0-30 mph in 6.5 seconds. The Smart EV is also projected to have 30kW output and a top speed of 70 mph. 
As for the popularity of the Smart brand, since its introduction in October 1998, nearly 800,000 people in 36 countries have made the smart fortwo the "in" car for fuel-efficient urban transportation. As a Daimler brand, smart benefits from the parent company's engineering expertise and many years of experience in the automotive industry. Drivers of smart vehicles can be categorized more in terms of their attitudes than their age, profession or gender.
