Solar Electric Car
The Mitsubishi MIEV Sport is an all-electric concept car that has a solar roof, two compact wind turbines built into the front grill, and a regenerative braking system to power the car. Of the parts, the solar roofs add up to 20 miles per day the car's range. The car uses a rear-midship layout with the lithium-ion batteries stored under the passenger floor. The powertrain of the car consists of two electric motors in the front and one motor providing power to the rear-wheels. The cars' lighting is LED-based on the concept car, including in the rear combination lamps and vehicle interior. Also, another way the car uses power efficiently is the way the air conditioning is improved with the use of heat-absorbing window glass. Finally, the car uses Green Plastic, which is based on Mitsubishi Motors' plant-based resin technology, on interior components.
