Tango Electric Car
Tango electric car is an ultra-narrow (99 cm) vehicle that is only 257 cm long.
The first Tango car was produced in 2005 (and delivered to the environmentally conscious actor George Clooney), with the hope of producing and delivering about 100 cars per year to customers. However, the difficulties that ensued with Commuter Cars, the manufacturer of the Tango, and their UK partners in manufacturing the vehicles forced a production shift to the company's base in Spokane, Washington. The next car wasn't delivered until February 2008. The cars most distinguishing part is the design, which is aimed at bypassing many of the today's problems in getting your car moving in a stand still traffic and getting it parked almost anywhere. The car is only 99 centimeters narrow:
and only 257 centimeters long, seating two:
Due to the design, the car is in fact thinner than some motorcycles and may be small enough to legally ride side-by-side with other small vehicles in traffic lanes in some jurisdictions, allowing for similar time saving as you would get with a motorcycle in a congested traffic. The other way this compact design is to enhance parking. The Tango may only take up as little as one-quarter of a standard parking space and may also be able to park sideways in many cases. The first of the series, as a experimental production model with limited production, carries a price tag of over $100,000. Of the expected follow up models, the Tango T200 model is expected to be eventually released at $40,000, while the T100 is expected to be released with a $19,000 MSRP.
