Telsa Electric Car
The mission of the company is to design and sells high-performance, highly efficient electric sports cars — with no compromises, which have been associated with electric cars. Tesla Motors cars aim to combine style, acceleration, and handling with advanced technologies. Early 2008, Tesla Motors received all regulatory approvals to import the first production Tesla Roadster (“P1”) for sale. This includes all necessary EPA and DOT approvals, including completion of all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS.) Having a sticker price of $98,000, the Tesla car is the first production high-performance electric car. It is powered entirely by electricity, a plug-in that will never use a drop of gasoline. The critic for the car so far has centered on the issues of high price, exotic battery technology, and lack of onboard backup power. The car is anticipated to get a lot of competition if successful, and rising gasoline prices and environmental concerns will ensure that automakers from Toyota to Mercedes-Benz are starting to design for the electric car market.
